For over 4 years on and off we had been looking for the perfect piece of land. We always thought we would like to build again, as we had done twice before. Our dream list was within a certain location, trees around the border of the property and extra points for more within, above 1 acre and below 6 acres and a view would top everything off. After finding it impossible to find the perfect block in a very small radius of our dream location, we were thinking something had to give.
In May 2019 we surpisingly out of the blue purchased our dream block.. along with our not so dream house (the compromise). Amazingly, after contacting plenty of people over time about random pieces of land, finally somebody decided to sell to us and make our dream a reality. The house has potential.. good bones is a nice way to say it, but not our ideal family home. Isn’t this all a part of the fun, making it your home? I’m not sure come back and ask us in a year or two time, hopefully we are well and truly on our way to being done, although are you ever done when it comes to a reno??
We have two daughters, a one and three year old who we want to provide the best family home we can for. They are our main concern when taking on such a massive project, family life is so important to us and we hope we can find the balance.
We would love for anyone who is interested to follow along with us, maybe your here out of interest, maybe you love Reno’s and could give us some much needed advice or maybe your thinking of taking on a crazy big project too.. follow us along our journey and maybe even learn from our mistakes.
